The first of the above Readings contains many Excisions, Alterations, and Connecting Links, all in the Author's Autograph: he has also been very particular in his 'stage directions' for himself (if they may be so called), so as to leave no chance of omitting to use his well-considered 'points', and to 'suit the action to the word' in his Reading with as much felicity as he had suited the word to the action in his Writing. The second Reading has some Excisions, and a few words in the Author's Autograph.
