Presentation copy to Dickens of 'A Children's Summer' by MLB (Mary Louisa Boyle) with illustrations by EVB (Eleanor Vere Boyle), 1853. Illustrated in prose and rhyme with an inscription by the author to Dickens. Contains Charles Dickens's bookplate and the bookplate of the library at Gad's Hill. Dickens met Mary Louisa Boyle in 1849 and they acted together in amateur theatricals. She was a contributor to Household Words.
