Charles Dickens Junior's Catalogue

1199 titles in 3299 volumes found

Total value of sold titles: £1152. 18s.

A hand-written Gad's Hill Library Catalogue was compiled at some time by or for Charles Dickens Jr. (known as Charley) and is now in the collection of the Morgan Library in New York. The date and purpose of this catalogue are not known, but the composition of the manuscript is interesting as each entry is written on an individual slip of paper and these have been pasted into the volume in approximate alphabetical order of the recorded titles, primarily on the recto but with occasional later titles added on the verso. This catalogue is also significantly larger than the Stonehouse Catalogue and contains a number of titles that were not included in the 1878 sale.
